Rinku’s books Stir it Up and The Accidental American theorize a model of community organizing that integrates a political analysis of race, gender, class, poverty, sexuality, and other systems. Stir It Up gives us a feminist, racially just alternative to Alinksyist organizing, one that includes transparent ideology, popular education and community leadership development. Stir It Up has guided organizers for nearly 15 years, and is still widely taught.
